I believe reading is very important in child's life. It begins at infancy through adult hood. I know when I was child love to read to before going to bed. I believed a child should be read to everyday. I know I hated reading my AR book at school.I thought it was a waste of time, now I know why pushed us to read. There are eight different stages of development: infancy, toddler, pre-school, elementary and adolescence, young adult and middle age, retirment age. While a child is learning how to read they will be able to summarize a story, observering and classifing on what going to happen next in the story. There are also books to help children how to cope with different situations in life whether it be with divorce, new sibling, learning disability and death. There are lot of children feel like it's there fault because their parents got divorce or don't feel loved because new addition to the family. Since I majoring in Special Education there is book that I'm interested in reading which is True Story by Helen Lester.
What is Value? The mariam dictionary states that Value is- relative worth, merit or importance. What value is most imporant to you? and why? The most imporant value to me is Family. There are my rock. I believe without them I wouldn't be the person I am today. They have watch me succeded in all my endovars in life. Can you teach this value? I think you teach your students that family be important value in life. How? You can tell your students to write about their families and share with the classroom or they can draw pictures of them.

Aimee,
ReplyDeleteI didn't think to look in the dictionary for how to describe values. Kudos to you for making it easier than I realized!
aimee, good example on how reading can be beneficial and healing for a reader who may be going some troubles in life.
ReplyDeleteGood job - keep adding to your responses by connecting it to personal experiences as well as what the literature says. For the summary - hit the high notes as well as adding what it means to you. What is this important? What does it say to you? SBH
ReplyDeleteI feel that family is a great value to share. I (we - my husband and I) have 5 boys and we always stress how important it is having family values. We are always letting them know how special and different our family is and that we need to value and respect eachother.
ReplyDeleteI belive that family as well is an important value. Family is important because they are always there to inspire you and keep you going. They are always there when you are in need.
ReplyDeleteI agree that family is important. Whether it is a traditional family of husband, wife, and children or someone who is just near and dear to your heart. I believe that having your family behind you can help you get through just about anything.
